I want to wish you the best of times with your family and friends this holiday season. Remember to give yourself permission to recover, reflect and renew these next two months. This past year I have learned two lessons: first, let go of the things that no longer serve your purpose; secondly, take more chances.
The Past & Present
I have been in the fitness industry for more than 15 years as a national master trainer for several leading fitness programs. Now, most of the reasons for being a trainer no longer match with my life’s goals. Letting go of most of my group fitness classes has been difficult. But I have been able to narrow my focus on providing a different kind of fitness and wellness experience. My focus has more purpose and a lot less show performance.
In September, I interviewed for a position at Baylor Scott & White Healthcare (BS&W) as part of their integrative medicine team - a two month and 10 interview process. I was offered the position. After 11 years of self-employment with 6 of those years owning my own clinic, I am taking a chance on this non-profit healthcare company. More importantly, I am taking the leap into unknown territory with the hope to develop into an even better version of myself so I can facilitate and help people achieve their best selves.
A lesson learned that I want to share with you is how important it is for you to look at your personal life’s garden and weed out the things that do not help you to thrive. Also, nurture and attend to the things that you see contribute to the bountifulness of your life. No matter how many seeds you plant, chances are that some of the seed will not grow. Don’t focus on the seeds that fail to produce, keep planting seeds and celebrate and share the bounty of your efforts!
I will be leaving my current facility and moving to Baylor Scott & White starting in mid January. I will continue to provide services and care for people in my current clinic hopefully, until the end of January. My hours and level of service will remain the same until I move to my new position. BuenaVidaAcupuncture.com will change to Tiobustillo.com. My goal with my new website is to offer more wellness education and “soul-food” for as many of you (and more) as possible.
The exciting news is I will be caring for people at two different locations for Baylor Scott & White starting Jan 16th. BS&W accepts most insurance providers. More information will be available as the moving date gets closer.
In the meantime, I am offering a sincere THANK YOU SPECIAL until the end of the year.
